LUNCH LAB: Decoding the Body-For Leaders (September)

$300.00

September Lunch Lab

Decoding the Body: Understanding the Physical Responses of Those Around You

Ever wonder what's really going on when someone:

- Jumps when you walk into the room.

- Shuts down in a meeting or a classroom.

- Seems irritable when asked a simple question.

- Avoids group settings or gets overwhelmed by noise.

- Reacts strongly to feedback or tone.

What if those reactions weren’t personal... but physiological?

Join us for a 4-week neuroscience course that helps you decode the behaviors of employees, students, colleagues, and even loved ones through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Somatic Experiencing.

You’ll learn to recognize the nervous system’s role in behavior and how stress, trauma, or overwhelm can show up in everyday interactions. By mapping these responses, we understand what makes these behaviors make sense.

Why This Lunch Lab is Powerful

As a leader, you're leading people, each with their own stories and nervous systems.

This Lab will help you:

🔹 Recognize Responses based on History

Understand the threat response cycle, and why past events has the nervous system reacting in a defensive accommodation.

🔹 Improve Understanding

Decode nonverbal cues and body-based reactions allowing you to understand behavior when paired with history.

🔹 Build Safety

Understand that a sense of safety is the key to building a healthy cohesive work environment.

🔹 Lead with Clarity and Compassion

Learn to navigate tension, resistance, or emotional reactions with tools rooted in neuroscience.

🔹 Understand Conflict & Miscommunication

Many workplace issues aren’t personal — they’re physiological.

🔹 Model Emotional Intelligence

When you understand what’s behind the behaviors, you lead from a place of wisdom,

This isn’t just about understanding the science — it’s about applying it to real-world leadership challenges. Whether you're leading a staff, managing clients, mentoring students, or building a team, this Lab gives you a neuroscience-informed lens to lead with insight and integrity.

The Details:

🔹4-week Course: Tuesdays beginning September 9 @ 12:00 PM

🔹 Working Lunch Format

🔹Optional Box Lunches: $15

🔹14 Peaks Counseling Neuropsysiological Trauma Treatment, 721 Ranch House Rd., Willow Park, TX 76087

What You’ll Gain:

🔹A deeper understanding of how stress and trauma impact the mind and body

🔹 Practical tools to better support the nervous systems of others using neuroscience

🔹 A Polyvagal State Map for identifying where someone might be responding from

🔹 A framework for compassionate leadership, teaching, or caregiving
