Intensives

OUR STORY

A COUPLES INTENSIVE

Where did your marriage problems begin? Hint: it was not your wedding day!

Couples will walk through the journey of their life, with an opportunity to share their story with their partner. In this story learn why you do what we do, and how your past influences your present. Then look at “OUR STORY” and learn what happens during communication with your partner and how your stories impact one another.

During this intensive you will many your nervous system which is based on polyvagal theory, learning your personal autonomic nervous system (fight, flight, freeze, appease). You will also map your marriages nervous system.

Walk away with a somatic map of your body, learn attachment styles, and concrete next steps on how to connect at a deeper level through the eyes of neuroscience.

YOUR STORY

INDIVIDUAL INTENSIVE

The body tells the story.

This intensive will take you on the journey of your life. Neuroscience shows that making sense of our story is important for the resolution of trauma and making sense of our lives. According to Dr. Dan Siegel, making sense of our story is one of the best ways to become a great parent.

Ask yourself…

Do you startle when someone walks into the room?

Does being in a crowd elicit a response to flee?

Does your stomach hurt and you cannot figure out why?

When asked if you took out the trash, do you go into fight mode?

If you hear loud voices, do you want to hide?

What makes this make sense?

These triggers are the roadmap to healing. These questions are answered through the lens of polyvagal theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Somatic Experiencing. Once we have the body mapped, you need a cohesive narrative.

In this group workshop, you will make sense of your narrative, while learning your somatic story. You will walk away with a narrative of the body and mind and concrete steps to facilitate the healing of your nervous system.

I hope you join us on this journey of. . . YOUR STORY.

YOUR STORY

A Young Adult Outdoor Retreat

A young woman hiking through the wilderness wearing a bright yellow hiking pack

If your young adult is struggling, this may be the experience for them. Participants will learn to work as a team, learn self-sufficiency, social skills and, learn personal responsibility.

This four-day retreat will push them to their limit, but allow them to grow leaps and bounds. While the young adults will be pushed, it is with respect and dignity, encouraging them to reach their potential. Participants will participate in the great outdoors, learning to hike and take care of themselves as they carry all they need to survive on their backs. Certain supplies will be provided to ensure safety, though not necessarily comfort.

A word from our founder

I have been offering retreats since I was sixteen when I learned the power of combining adventure and people. In those days it was often to bring together a sports team, building on the power of teamwork.

I have led canoe trips, backpacking trips, adventure camps, and rock climbing retreats, always with the goal to teach trust and bring people into connection.

One of my healing adventures was a 450 mile week-long race in Montana (see photo right) and then accelerated when I found Somatic Experiencing (SE). That is why I am so excited to bring you these retreats. Spending a weekend together, in nature, while writing your story is a wonderful path on the healing journey.
