Connection

Finding Your Tribe

Finding your tribe is exciting and it takes openness, flexibility, and risk.  The rewards, however, can be worth the risk. Will it always works out?

Probably not, AND it might! There is an infinite number of ways to connect.  Instead of talking about each of them, the possibilities are shown through pictures.

Below is a wonderful array of ways to find your tribe! How will you find what is right for you? I do not know exactly, but starting with one of these activities is a great start.  Almost all of the activities seen on this page can be found in your town. What would it be like to try every one of these activities, until you find a connection, and ultimately your tribe?

The first step is to find an opportunity.

One thing we all have in common is eating. A picnic at the park, going to a food truck, grabbing coffee, cooking together, stopping at the ice cream truck, are all inexpensive ways to connect.

Wanting to meet new people?

A cooking class, a nutrition class, or a cake decorating class are also great ways to connect to others.  What if you ask someone and they say no? That is possible AND they may say yes.  What if you try an activity and it is not enjoyable.  Try again!

Eat | Drink | Enjoy

The connection that can happen through play and movement is invigorating.  Pick up basketball, rowing club, chess, biking, motorcycle riding, martial arts, the playground...the ideas are endless in this category.

Many of these activities are great alone for our health, and they are also a way to connect with others.  If there is not someone in your life who likes to play, you can join a league or look for classes at the local college.  The possibilities are endless.

Play | Sports | Recreation

Arts | Culture

The arts and exploring culture are wonderful opportunities to connect over a gift or a passion.  Enjoying museums, the planetarium, the botanic gardens, all of these are wonderful activities.

Dance is powerful in combining movement and connectivity. The theatre has been used for healing trauma and there are community theatre groups and classes.  The opera, orchestra,  School of Rock (adult bands too!), concerts, open mic night...oh the possibilities!
