I believe that true healing from trauma requires a deeper approach that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. While talk therapy can be incredibly helpful, it doesn’t always address the deep-rooted physical and emotional impacts of trauma. That’s why I’m passionate about integrating neuroscience and the mind-body connection into the healing process. I believe that trauma affects not just our minds, but our bodies as well. Healing requires addressing both.
With over 14 years of experience in mental health, I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings, including intensive outpatient programs, residential treatment, and private practice. I spent 5 years working in residential treatment with adults and 5 years with adolescents, giving me invaluable experience working with a wide range of complex issues.
I specialize in trauma, developmental trauma, anger management, mood disorders, attachment issues, addiction, relationship dynamics, and personal growth. My training in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, DBT, Polyvagal Theory, and 12-step recovery allows me to use evidence-based techniques to help clients process their trauma in a way that reaches the root causes and promotes lasting healing.
I am deeply passionate about the science of the mind and body and am well-versed in neuroscience and Polyvagal Theory. Through an integrative, body-focused approach, I help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations are interconnected. This holistic perspective empowers clients to heal on a deeper level, promoting resilience and lasting transformation.
I take a client-centered, individualized approach to therapy, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of the person in front of me. I believe that healing happens in a safe, supportive relationship, and I’m committed to providing a space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered. Whether you're looking to overcome past trauma, improve your relationships, or find more balance in life, I’m here to support you on your healing journey.
I have been in recovery for 14 years on my own personal journey, which has given me a deep understanding of the struggles that many of my clients face. My personal experiences have taught me that no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges may feel, change and healing are always possible. This belief led me to pursue my Master’s in Counseling from BH Carroll and dedicate my career to helping others find hope, healing, and resilience.
At 14 Peaks, I’m proud to be part of a team of passionate, compassionate therapists who share a commitment to holistic healing. I also enjoy mentoring graduate students, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to provide the best care for future clients.

Family is incredibly important to me, and I treasure the time I spend with my wife, son, and our dog. We enjoy spending time together, they’re my foundation and my greatest source of joy. Outside of my work, I also find joy in simple, hands-on projects, motorcycles and playing guitar. These creative outlets bring me fulfillment and help me stay balanced.

“Somatic Experiencing, attachment work, and polyvagal theory are the cornerstones of Mike’s empathetic approach. As clients explore thier narrative, he facilitates resetting the nervous systems to a state of safety, curiosity, and connection. Through the use of analogies and real-life experiences, he helps clients comprehend their body’s physiological responses to trauma. Mike compassionately helps clients make sense of their story. ”
